Stained glass window featuring a deer and the lodge number. — Lancaster Elks Lodge #134
Stained glass window featuring a deer and the lodge number.

Walk through the doors at Lancaster Elks Lodge #134 and the building tells you everything before anyone says a word. Dark exposed ceiling beams stretch overhead, hand-carved stair banisters catch the light, and stained glass windows throw color across a room that has hosted generations of Lancaster families. Visitors consistently describe it as uncovering a hidden gem, a place where time slows down and the laughter genuinely bounces off the woodwork.

The lodge sits on N Duke Street in the middle of Lancaster city, making it far more accessible than people expect from a members-only institution. Guests arrive for a blues night and leave talking about the acoustics. Families book the banquet hall for a milestone dinner and come back the next year. That cycle of return visits is the truest measure of what Lodge #134 has built here.

This is not a dusty relic kept alive by obligation. It is an active, working hall where Don and Sally and a dedicated crew of volunteers make every event run smoothly. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks has always tied community service to celebration, and #134 carries that forward with a calendar full of live performances, charitable fundraisers, and private events that give the old building new reasons to fill up.

What We Offer

Lodge #134 functions as one of Lancaster's most distinctive event venues, offering a full banquet hall for weddings, anniversaries, retirement parties, and corporate gatherings. The space seats a serious crowd, and the character of the room, with those beams and stained glass, does work that no balloon arch ever could.

Live music nights draw members and guests alike, with acts like the Benjamin Vo Blues Band filling the room on a regular basis. The lodge's booking team handles talent selection with genuine care, choosing performers who match the energy of the space rather than just filling a calendar slot. Private event rentals come with on-site staff support, bar service, and the kind of institutional knowledge that only comes from running events in the same building for decades.

Membership in the B.P.O. Elks opens the door to weekly social events, access to the lounge, discounted hall rentals, and participation in one of the most active charitable networks in Lancaster County. New members are welcomed through a straightforward application process, and the existing membership makes orientation feel less like paperwork and more like being introduced to a room full of regulars who already know your name.

"We visited as a guest of a member. Really cool place. Nice old building with big dark exposed ceiling beams and stair bannisters, beautifully crafted stained glass windows, and creative use of all the old spaces: there’s free duckpin bowling in the basement for members, a bar and restaurant with darts and pool tables on the main floor, and a super cool speakeasy upstairs. Truly enjoyed the visit. Thanks DJP!"

"We were there as guests of the band " Benjamin Vo Blues Band", and the Club could not have been more accommodating. Don and Sally were awesome and great job on booking this Blue's band. The venue was spacious, clean, lots of tables, bar seating, and plenty of activities. Prices are very decent, service was excellent and the clientele were extremely friendly. There is a corner stage for the band and the acoustics were very good. This band is true to the Blues and is incredibly passionate about music. Ben on lead guitar, Schroeder on the keyboard, and Jare on the skins play so well together. They feed off one another and the crowd for so amazing performances. They received 2 standing ovations and the crowd didn't want the night to end! Ben opened up for Beth Hart at the Hershey Theater last year and for the crowd to yell out to an opening act "What is your name" because he was so impressive. That is an incredible honor as people were there to hear the most talented Beth Hart who has also played next to the Great Joe Bonamassa; you have to be special to make that kind of impression."

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
